Over on Twitter (I refuse to call it X), @happyangelshark asked people what their spanking pet peeves were, and boy were there a lot of good answers.
- Video companies making videos where the person is barely touched and they start kicking and screaming. It’s easy to find videos where this isn’t the thing that’s happening. I’ve been watching spanking videos for almost 30 years and I rarely see one of these “fake” videos, though. It’s all about curating your experience.
- Hand cupping while hand spanking. There’s a place for this, but I’m not really a fan of it either.
- When the video cuts to the top’s face and lingers there for too long. I’m linking to this reply because you really have to see the gifset that goes along with it.
- Too many implements. This cuts both ways. If you’re doing a disciplinary scene or most forms of role-play, too many implements spoils the scene. However, if you’re doing a straight-up long-lasting spanking, why not go through your entire bag?
- Counting. I don’t usually require people I play with to count, unless it’s part of a role-play. I usually do the counting in my head.
- Stoic bottoms that make you feel like you’re spanking a statue. Yeah, I don’t love this either, but you can’t force someone to react a certain way.
What are your spanking pet peeves, beyond the fact that you might not be giving or receiving a spanking right this second?

Counting is helpful to me as a bottom to have enough stamina to get through a harder finale (usually when counting comes into play) because I know it will end. I don’t mind it in videos.
My peeves are probably different as I generally seek disciplinary content. Little to no dialogue. Gratuitous nudity. I’ll probably skip the video.
