Say It Loud

My acquaintance Bottom_Up on Fetlife posted this recently:

Do you all remember when you couldn’t say the word Spanking out loud? 🙈🍑👋

Yes. Yes I do.

I’ve been interested in spanking as far back as I can remember, but trying to talk about it was always difficult. Even when I went to my first-ever spanking munch in Orlando when I was… twenty? I think? Anyway, even then I still had trouble actually saying the word “spanking” without blushing fiercely. It was hella hard to discuss it with my girlfriend, and even harder to actually do it with her, probably because deep-down I knew she wasn’t really into it and was just saying she was to keep me hooked. Then, later, whenever I heard the word “spanking” in the wild I would perk up and simultaneously get a little embarrassed at my own reaction.

It took a long time to get past that. I think I was maybe thirty-five or so when I finally realized that it’s okay to talk about consensual adult spanking with other adults, and it’s okay to be interested when someone says the word “spanking” on TV or in a movie. Now, at forty-five, I truly don’t care if someone knows I’m into spanking (except at work — they don’t need to know). Most of my friends are aware, and I don’t really have any vanilla friends anymore anyway — and the few who are vanilla know that I’m kinky.

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying consensual adult spanking. There’s nothing wrong with talking about it, or reading about it, or writing about it, or asking for it. (I mean, I still get a little twist in my stomach when I ask my long-distance partner to spank me, but that’s just because I know it’s going to be hot as fuck.) So say it loud, and say it proud: SPANKING!

A "someecard" that says "I'm pretty sure you need a good spanking."

  1. Yeah it’s definitely a weird thing for me to bring up in conversation. I have a love/hate relationship with people bringing it up because I get excited but I don’t want to come across that way
