The proofreading of my choose-your-own-adventure story is coming along nicely; I have a couple of beta readers looking for those logical errors.
In the meantime, I’ve started work on a book called Lessons, about a princess whose behavior and attitude are out of hand, so her prime minister calls in a famous (or possibly infamous) teacher to deal with her. It’s medieval-esque — more like the Discworld type of medieval in that there is some technology and some magic, but it’s mostly the fairy-tale level of civilization. Think Beauty and the Beast (the Disney version). I’m up to chapter four now, and there is a completed outline.
Lessons has been kicking around my head for a while now, and this is the fourth time I’ve started writing it. The first three times I shifted around points of view in my head, and I think that’s what was hurting me — I was trying to tell the story through four different characters, but this time around I’m focusing solely on the princess’s point of view. So far, so good.
