Maybe there’s something wrong with the universe

It’s been quite a while since I complained about not getting any reviews, but I think it’s about time.

My last Amazon review on a JJ Rose book came on January 5, 2025. (I got one on a book under another name a couple of months ago.) Every couple of weeks I check Amazon and Goodreads to see what people have said, and rarely do they say anything. I’m getting thousands of page reads per month, and I’m selling books, so I know people are at least reading my stuff. They’re just not reviewing.

Or maybe they are, and Amazon has decided not to show me the reviews. It’s a known issue with Amazon that reviews can come and go for various reasons. Which is annoying, but they’re a monolithic publisher who makes all their money on AWS and I’m an erotica author who puts out maybe one or two books a year, bringing in a minuscule amount of money for them. I can’t exactly get them to listen to what I have to say.

So instead I’m relying on you, the readers, to help me out here. If you read something of mine, and you liked it, please leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads. Or at least a star rating. Believe me, every good review makes me want to keep writing more. I’m never going to hold my writing hostage until people leave me more reviews (even when I wrote fanfic I didn’t do this; I didn’t start posting a story until it was completely done and edited), but there are days when I could really use some positive feedback. If my writing made you feel things, tell me about it.

Oh, and if you didn’t like it, I want to know that as well. Unfortunately, an honest low review will absolutely kill a book with only a few of them when it comes to getting surfaced algorithmically, so please reach out to me directly here, or on Instagram or Fetlife @authorjjrose, and tell me what you didn’t like, or what you think I could have done differently. I’m always willing to listen and even have a conversation if I want more information from you. Constructive criticism is still constructive, after all.
