I’ve had the same pair of slippers for at least 13 years, though it’s probably closer to 15. They’re well-worn and comfortable, but in the past year or so I’ve noticed that the uppers are coming away from the soles. I added a new pair to my Amazon wish list and someone bought them for me for my birthday.

These particular slippers are famous — or, rather, infamous — for being the catalyst for me learning to do warm-ups. Back on July 26, 2013*, I met up with someone for the first time while doing a cross-country trip for a writers’ retreat. We’d been talking for about a month, having progressed to video chats rather quickly, and she knew I spanked hard. She wanted to be spanked hard.
I brought two suitcases with me on the trip, and about half of one was full of implements, including my slippers. (Look up “slippering” if you want to know why.) We met in person, talked a bit, hugged a lot, and then she removed her jeans and bent over the foot of the bed for a hard spanking.
I decided to start with the slipper, because I’d tested it on myself and it wasn’t as bad as, say, a wooden paddle.
She managed something like seven swats before she got up, threw herself on the bed, and burst into tears. Now, at the time, I thought tears were a necessary thing when giving a hard spanking, but I could tell these tears weren’t the right kind. So I got on the bed with her, held her, and we talked a little bit. It turned out that she hadn’t had a spanking as hard as I could give them in quite a while, and while the spirit was willing, the body wasn’t ready.
So instead we decided to skip ahead in our plans a bit and move onto oral sex.
We got back to spanking a little later in the day, and I warmed her up with my hand (still hard, but not as hard as with the slipper) before spanking her with my wooden spoon. She didn’t cry again that weekend, but that was okay.
We never did get back to the slipper — not in any of our meetings — but I will always remember the sound of it whacking against her backside.
* The reason I remember the exact date is because it was that damn good of a weekend.
