When I go to a White Elephant gift party with kinky people, more often than not I’ll bring a book or two as my gift, in hopes that it’ll pique someone’s fancy enough to read it and maybe review it (or read more of my work). I recently went to one with all spankos, so of course one of my spanking-focused books would be best, right? I brought Holiday Heat: Volume 1, and it was selected fifth. The woman who opened it was kind of blown away; she said she “never” reads smut, but that she was excited to read this one. She (and the host) was even more excited to find out that I was actually the writer of the book.

It was a nice moment. Even nicer was hearing that the host of the party already had the book (though I don’t know if she has read it yet or not).

I selected sixth, and received a BDSM flag that I can put out in my yard. Which I might do, if the grass near my mailbox is deep enough to hammer in the stand.

Mine doesn’t have the stripes, but otherwise it’s the same thing.

I have at least one more White Elephant party to attend. Not sure which book I’ll bring for that one, but whoever gets it, I hope they enjoy it.
