Speaking of anachronisms…

I mentioned an anachronism in this post recently. Well, I found another one, this time in Wanderlust by Ann Aguirre:

This book takes place in the far future — it’s not extremely clear exactly when, but far enough that “the monkey-pilot experiments from the turn of the century” are no longer accurate. Yes, I realize the author wrote this in the 2000s, but this is the kind of thing editors need to catch. Unless of course there were monkey-pilot experiments in the future too, and if so, we need to know more about them.

Be careful of anachronisms in your writing. A careful reader will be completely pulled out of your story.
