What’s on my shelf?

I have over 1700 books on my phone. I’m never going to get around to reading them all, but it’s nice to know I’ll never run out of things to read.

I’m currently reading the third Kushiel book by Jacqueline Carey. Among the other books in my “maybe I’ll read this next” pile are:

  • A reread of the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman, so that I can then read the Book of Dust series
  • Overgrowth, by Mira Grant (looked interesting when I saw a review of it)
  • Kushiel’s Scion (the fourth book in the series)
  • The Language of Bees, by Laurie R. King (these books are really long and can get tedious but I’ve already read eight of them so I might as well finish the series)
  • A Life With Footnotes, by Rob Wilkins (I don’t read a lot of nonfiction but I adore Terry Pratchett)

The odds-on favorite is Overgrowth, followed by Kushiel’s Scion and then The Golden Compass, interspersing one new book with a Carey, Pullman, or King.

Somewhat-related: in my copies of the Kushiel books, the em-dashes are rendered as hyphens, which is the tiniest bit annoying, especially to a lover of the em-dash like myself. I’ve gotten used to it after three books, but I’m hoping that the next one is rendered correctly.

So… what are you reading?
