I spanked a nonzero number of butts at Oasis Labor Day 2025. Some were bare, and some were not. But I noticed something interesting.

On Sunday afternoon I was a top at the Boys & Bois party, which is for male and male-identifying/gender nonconforming bottoms to be topped by people of all genders. Generally the male bottoms prefer female tops, but I gave a few spankings too. While I wasn’t spanking, though, I was observing, and what I observed was that there were a lot more bare bottoms at B&B than there generally were during open play in the party suites. Of course, there are also fewer spankings given to male bottoms in the open play sessions, so maybe I just noticed it more.

Or maybe guys are just more comfortable baring their bottoms to strangers.

There could be any number of reasons for that. Men could be more confident that they’re not going to be touched inappropriately, something that women often have to concern themselves with (generally not at spanking parties, because if you touch someone inappropriately you are likely to be asked to leave). Men could feel less body consciousness about their butts. Men could know that they can’t compete with the cuteness of women’s panties so they just don’t bother at all. Or it could be none of these.

At TASSP 2022, when I did a scene with a new (to me) top, we negotiated that I would be spanked on my bare backside. Had she not wanted to do that, I would’ve been fine with it; usually when I bottom in public, I keep my shorts on and still get suitably spanked. When it came up in conversation, she didn’t seem taken aback by it. We even discussed what to do if arousal occurred (we agreed to ignore it, and ultimately it didn’t end up happening, so: crisis averted.)

One man I spanked at B&B decided to go bottomless. The rest kept some sort of underwear on. It didn’t affect how I spanked them, or how I felt about spanking them. It just was what it was.

But I do kind of wonder why we don’t see more bare bottoms during open play. (Which isn’t to say that we never do. In addition to a scene I did at LD 2025, I also saw a bare-bottom caning of a woman.)
