This week I’m talking about implements I’ve broken during spankings. Click here to see the full list. (Obviously today there will only be one but as the week progresses the list will become more robust.)
Some people treat a broken implement as a badge of honor — they spanked someone hard enough to break an implement, or they took a spanking hard enough to break an implement. But for me it’s just annoying — especially because I use the same few implements (it seems) and if one broke I would be very unhappy.

This hairbrush is the first implement I ever broke. It was 2013, and I was spanking the woman who was the inspiration for Princess Eleanora in Lessons. It was our first time together, and the first time I was giving her a “real” spanking (as opposed to a swat when she wandered away in Target or a brief bedtime spanking). This particular woman was known for taking hard spankings, and she wanted discipline in her life. So after warming her up a bit with my hand, I blasted her backside with this hairbrush. Twelve swats later I found a crack in it and we had to stop using it. Sad times. (We switched to a much more robust paddle instead.)

That’s what her bottom looked like when I was done. As you can see, I missed with the belt one time and got her a little higher than I should have. But overall it was a good spanking, despite breaking the hairbrush. Unfortunately, even after spanking her all weekend, she barely bruised — and, at the time, I thought marks and bruises were the be-all and end-all of spanking (that and tears). I was particularly annoyed because when she visited her regular disciplinarian he never failed to bruise her bottom, so what was I doing wrong?
Turns out the answer was “nothing”. No one can truly predict what kinds of marks or colors will appear on someone’s backside after a spanking. I know that now, and I feel much more confident in my spankings as a result.
