Oh Good

Today is Good Friday, the Friday before Easter, and since I work for a company based in Europe, I got a pleasant surprise last week when I opened my timekeeping software and saw that Good Friday was a paid holiday. I had not been aware of that.

I don’t know everything I’m going to do today — I’m writing this blog entry more than a week in advance — but I do know that I won’t be sleeping in. My dog doesn’t allow it; she’s almost always up by seven, except for the rare occasions where she lets me sleep until 7:45 or 8:00. I don’t mind getting up early for her; I just take a nap on the couch after she comes in from her morning potty break. But I figured that, since I would already be up, I might as well do my yearly eye exam. A few weeks ago I woke up with a very noticeable floater in my left eye. I have a few floaters — they come with age, it seems — but this one was particularly distracting. I wonder what the eye doctor is going to say.

At least it’s not this kind of floater:

Sorry. I enjoy a good poop joke, and this one stuck in my head for years.

I hope you have a Good Friday, wherever you are, and that if you’re going to the eye doctor, that you have good results from all of your tests.

And now, here’s a song from Wicked about being good.
