Pain

It’s really hard to do a lot of things when you’re in constant pain.

I know what caused it, or at least what started it: I was leaning over my new desk at work a little too much, and it strained my upper back.

Then I had GASP, where I spanked a bunch of people, but more so the problem was that I laid down flat on a massage table to get spanked and it did a weird thing to my back.

Since then, I’ve been unable to lie on my right side for very long, and when I’m on my right side and I cough, it seizes up my whole upper back. Turning onto my other side from that position is nearly impossible; I need to slide off the bed, onto my knees, and slowly straighten up. Each degree or so that I straighten causes my upper back to readjust itself in a painful way.

I can only sleep on my left side now. I mean, that’s the side I usually sleep on, but I don’t change positions at all during the night anymore, except to occasionally turn onto my back, which still hurts. But I’ve been waking up super-early the past couple of weeks because I can only stay on my side for so long before everything except my back aches.

Unfortunately this robs me of cuddle time in two ways: first of all, when I lie on my right side to cuddle a partner, it’s torturous to turn over, and when I wake up, going back to bed isn’t a very welcoming prospect — not because of my partner, but because of how much pain I know I’ll be in.

What’s interesting is that my back doesn’t bother me during spanking or sex (unless I’m on the bottom). It strains a little, but it doesn’t hurt enough — if at all — to cause problems. It’s just this one set of positions/movements that makes it hurt.

For what it’s worth, I got really sick the last week of February and still have some wheezing.

I’m going to the chiropractor soon — I got an appointment fairly quickly — and hopefully she can figure out what’s wrong. I tried massage, but that was fruitless. Painkillers don’t work. I can only hope that my back isn’t hurting because of some sort of infection — although honestly if it is then a ten-day course of antibiotics would probably knock it out. But this doesn’t feel like an infection — it doesn’t hurt consistently, only when I do certain things. When I’ve had infections before, they hurt constantly.

Anyway. That’s why I haven’t done much except work and watch TV lately.

Speaking of watching TV lately, here’s a fun screencap I grabbed:

Thank you, Chef Kim Poong of Chef and My Fridge — which, by the way, is a pretty fun show, although it would be better if I understood Korean so I could make out what everyone is saying when they all talk over each other. Captions can only do so much.
