In the late 80s or early 90s, I remember watching an animated film with my dad. I remember very little about it, except for one scene. I couldn’t figure out what movie it was no matter how hard I tried, and even Google Gemini couldn’t help. So I went to the /r/whatsthemoviecalled community and posted about it, hoping that someone could help me. Here’s the info I had:

• Animated sci-fi movie
• Main character was a gruff guy
• Female robot (gray or silver in color) who was really angry about something the MC did.
• MC reprogrammed her to be nicer, but to do this he had to put her over his lap so he could access circuitry in her butt.
• Animation style was realistic, not cartoony (no exaggerated features).
• American English.

And, lo and behold, within less than ten minutes, a user named Rogerpocalypse figured it out.

Starchaser: The Legend of Orin is the name of the movie. And not only did Rogerpocalypse find it on Youtube, but he even linked me to the exact moment in the movie that I remembered.

You can guess why I remembered that part, right? Even though the robot didn’t actually get spanked.

Okay, so maybe he wasn’t working in her butt, but that’s how I remembered it. She certainly looks like she’s kicking and screaming during a spanking.

It’s amazing how one three-second scene can leave such a mark on your brain.

And now I have a new movie to watch. (Well, not new. But still. It’s 100 minutes long; should keep me busy for a while.)
