Comfort TV

The latest edition of Holiday Heat comes out this Friday! Pre-order it now!

People have been watching “comfort TV” for a long time — shows that they’ve seen before, but relax them. For a lot of people, it’s The Office or Friends; for me, it’s The Great British Baking Show. Ever since I discovered that Roku had the rights to the first seven seasons (and Netflix has the rest) I’ve been making my way through the show from the beginning. I saw the very first Hollywood Handshake (given to a contestant named Ryan), an awful lot of bad but heartwarming jokes from Mel and Sue, and even a few episodes I remembered from my first time around (like the one with the hand-raised pie).

There are also a lot of fun innuendos on seemingly-innocent shows. I’ve shown screencaps of them in the past. But this one really grabbed me. I wonder why.

A wooden object that looks like a spinning top... or a butt plug.

I don’t recall exactly what this was made for, but when the contestant showed it to Paul and Mary she said “my husband made it for me.”

I just hope she cleaned it thoroughly first.
